OCTOBER HOME MAINTENANCE CHECKLIST

Well, it's official. The leaves have changed colour, our breath can be seen, and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Soon enough we'll be turning on those fireplaces and relying on our furnaces to get us through those chilly nights. 

With these seasonal changes, it is more important now than ever to maintain your home. Keep your home healthy this month with the following home maintenance checklist:

• Clean or replace furnace filter, HRV, or humidifier filter (if applicable).
• Check roof for missing singles. If you live within a condominium, please notify your property manager regarding any missing shingles.
• Check weather-stripping on all exterior doors for a good seal.
• Check doors for adjustments.
• Turn off and blow out underground sprinkler system. If you live within a condominium, all lawn preparation is maintained by the property manager.
• Winterize landscaping. If you live within a condominium, all lawn preparation is maintained by the property manager.
• Clean range hood/OTR filter.
• Drain water heater (refer to hot water tank maintenance).
• Take off exterior sump pump hose (install in April).
• Turn off exterior hose bibs. If you live within a condominium, all lawn preparation is maintained by the property manager.
